My mixed media found object sculptures are inspired by the works of ancient and tribal artists and architects — archetypal forms that speak a universal language. As a contemporary artist, however, I take relics of our own time — found manufactured items — and combine them with handmade paper, textured paper pulp, and paint.  I transform everyday objects into iconic abstract sculptures that are lightweight and easy to move and hang.

Cerulean Arts (1355 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia) is having a 20th Anniversary Exhibition, September 2-27. On September 19 I will be giving my one day Doing What Comes Naturally workshop at the Wayne Art Center.

I invite you to spend a day exploring your artistic inclinations and abilities in a non-judgmental, non-competitive atmosphere. A series of practical exercises will help you to identify your personal artistic language and to better appreciate and utilize your unique gifts.

My sculptures, Pyramid and Spinner will be in the Wayne Art Center Faculty show, September 8 - October 3 with a reception on Thursday September 24 from 4-6pm.

On Saturday September 26  from 2-4pm, I’ll be at the opening reception for “The Philadelphia Dumpster Divers: Past, Present and Future” at  the Cheltenham Center for the Arts: 439 Ashbourne Rd, Cheltenham. The show will be there until October 16.

Recently one of my sculptures was acquired by the University of Delaware Art Museum. Three of my sculptures are now in the permanent collection of West Chester University. “Vaccine: The Light at the End of the Tunnel,” is in the collection of Kati Kariko, the Nobel Prize winning pioneer in MRNA research that led to the Covid vaccine. “Steinway Mandala”is in the collection of The Curtis Institute of Music.
